Reverend Nathaniel “Nate” Adkins
Pastor, Allen’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church
Reverend Nathaniel “Nate” Adkins is the newly elected Pastor of Allen’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. A
preacher, teacher, author, and father, Pastor Adkins brings more than two decades of ministry experience and a
deep commitment to the study and proclamation of God’s Word. His ministry is guided by a consistent mission:
“Restoring Kingdom Truth Principles to the Body of Christ by preaching Jesus.”
A native of Reidsville, North Carolina, Pastor Adkins is the son of Fannie Galloway Adkins and Anthony Demetrius
Wheeler, Sr. His connection to the church began in infancy, when his mother brought him to church for prayer
at just six days old because of a heart murmur. He was spiritually nurtured at M&L Memorial Faith Tabernacle
under the leadership of the late Reverend James Marvin Lawson and, later, Reverend James Alfred Lawson.
Baptized in 1989, he developed an early love for Scripture and worship. Opportunities to teach Sunday School
and minister to other young people helped lay the foundation for his calling.
While still a high school senior, Pastor Adkins preached his initial sermon, “Let No Thing Block Your Blessing,”
from Mark 10:46–52 on February 17, 2002, at St. Mark United Holy Church under Pastor Jamel Broadnax. That
occasion remains especially meaningful because his late Uncle William gave his life to Christ that same day. He
was licensed as a minister in the United Holy Church of America, Inc., in 2003 and ordained under Interfaith
Fellowship of Churches, International, in 2005.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Adkins has served in youth, associate, assistant, administrative, and executive
pastoral leadership. These assignments have strengthened his experience in preaching, teaching, ministry
development, church administration, and caring for God’s people. Mentorship under Dr. Kenneth N. Moore at
Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Stoneville, NC, further deepened his commitment to disciplined biblical study
and teaching. He has also served as an Elder on the ministerial staff at Truth and Worship Outreach Ministries in
Danville, Virginia, under Pastor Sylvester and Co-Pastor Carole Townes.
Pastor Adkins believes that ministry extends beyond the pulpit into the lives and needs of the community. As
Outreach Director for Lifenation, he helped organize initiatives including Feeding 500 during Thanksgiving,
community prayer walks in High Point and Greensboro, and Greensboro’s annual Hot Soup Day. These efforts
reflect his commitment to expressing the love of Christ through practical service. He is also the author of
Breaking Free From Unforgiveness, a book exploring the necessity and power of forgiveness.
A proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Pastor Adkins earned a Bachelor of Science in
Agricultural and Environmental Systems. He is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of North
Carolina at Pembroke, with aspirations of continuing his studies in divinity school. His dedication to teaching also
extends into the classroom, where he serves middle school students in Reidsville.
Above his accomplishments, Pastor Adkins considers fatherhood his greatest joy. He is the proud father of
Christopher Nathaniel Adkins, affectionately known as his “mini-me.”
As he begins this new chapter at Allen’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Adkins brings a love for God’s
people, a passion for preaching Jesus, and a commitment to helping others grow through the transforming
power of God’s Word. He is excited for the future as we “Reach the lost, restore the broken, and experience God
together.”
